"In January of 2007, we decided that the time had come to find a larger home for our family of six. After the usual debate, discussion, and hand-wringing, we decided on Terry Anthony as our realtor. We had met Terry in various capacities over the years and had always been impressed with his professionalism and good-natured personality, so it seemed perfectly natural to ask him to assist us in finding a new home. As anyone who has ever shopped for a house before knows, the process can try the patience of their favorite saint. Terry was up to the task. He took the time to fully understand our taste, our budget, and our capacity (or lack thereof) for trudging endlessly through homes and driving around corners of neighborhoods we had long forgotten. After Terry found us our house, he advocated for us to secure us the best deal that could be gotten at that time. He was very familiar with the local market, knew all the players, and helped us negotiate effectively.
Then the real work began. We had a house to sell and we were entering into the start of a downturn in the real estate market. This is where a realtor really gets to test his mettle. Terry knew all the right people and quickly assembled a team to get the house ready to sell. He developed a plan to market our home, and persuaded us to price it just below where the market for similar homes was at in order to attract multiple offers. It worked. Interest in our home was high, and multiple offers were on the table. In just over three weeks we ended up accepting an offer that far exceeded our expectations. In fact, thanks to Terry Anthony, the price we received became the high water mark for similar homes in that neighborhood! All at a time when the local market was slowing and homes were starting to decline in price, as well as sit uncomfortably long on the market.
But price does not tell the entire story. Throughout the process, our confidence in Terry was high and knowing that he was guiding the transactions was comforting. We just felt that we were in the hands of someone highly competent in his field. And you can?t put a price on that. We would certainly use Terry in our next transaction, and would highly recommend him to anyone in the market for a qualified real estate professional.
